This project involved the extensive renovation of a neglected 1910 Arts & Crafts style house into a country home along the Delaware River. With the careful additions of a new entry court and adjacent garage, the assemblage evokes an informal, rural homestead that appears to have evolved over time.

Interior walls were selectively removed to provide an open flow of space and openings between rooms to enhance light and expansive river views. The living room includes a bay window with an upholstered bench seat. An adjacent, enclosed porch has a heated, tumbled slate floor which provides the perfect setting for family gatherings and meals during any season. Beyond the dining room, the kitchen displays a custom designed cork floor in a lively, over-scaled patchwork quilt pattern.

The second floor was reconfigured as a master suite for the Owners with master bedroom and bath at one end and a den and home office at the other. The third floor contains three modest bedrooms and bathrooms, each are nestled into sloped roof shapes and dormers that provide the charm and character of a bed & breakfast or country inn.
